Baby Sitters

Having consistent babysitters is a very important thing.  It's nice to have sitters that our kids know and are comfortable with...even Cooper.  The problem that we keep running into is that our best sitters are seniors in high school!  We have them around for 1 year, and then they leave for school:(  So B & I decided to try to find someone a bit younger but able to do the job.  So tonight we started training Irina.

I came home with me after school today.  She's a 7th grader that I teach at WFRMS.  Her mother is actually another Math teacher that I work with so we are friends.  I loves children and has taken a babysitting class at the YMCA so she's had special training.  I came home with me after school to see what life was like with 3 little ones and to learn some of our household rules and norms.  B was in class, so it was nice to have some company.  I took R & A in the back yard to play and I(me) got some laundry done while W played in his room.  We had mac & cheese, green beans, and apples for dinner.  After dinner we watched our Friday night movie (Hercules) together.  I helped me put them to bed.  It really went well so I(me) definitely can see this working out.  B & I(me) want to attend a St Patrick's party next weekend that is not kid friendly, which might be I's turn to babysit for real.  B and I(me) have to discuss it again, but her training went great.

Here are a few picture I took of the kids while sitting on the sofa watching their movie before bed time.  Just a note that while I was putting the camera up, W fell off the sofa.  Oops!

Family Photo

I needed to post this picture but it was on B's phone.  C/J/L came to say goodbye to me at school before heading to the airport.

Special Visitors!

Last week Uncle Topher, Aunt Jaime, and Layla came to visit us.  We had a blast! They arrived to NC on Tuesday, February 21 and immediately jumped right into our schedule.  We took R to dance and then headed home for BBQ dinner.  Wed-Fri B & I had to work, but C/J/L found things to do that included visiting B at school and driving to Cary to visit a pastor friend.

In the afternoons had something different to do every evening.  Wednesday night we had Bible Study so C/J/L got to meet all our friends and all our friends finally got to meet C/J/L.  We had a great time and even Layla played with the other kids.  Thursday after school, we went to Chick-fil-A for dinner since it was spirit night for WFRMS.  The kids played in the playground together and C/J stopped at Krispy Kreme for a sweet dessert.  yum!  Friday evening we met Keith & Jen for dinner at Milton's (our favorite).  C/J/L enjoyed it as well.

The weekend was just as busy.  Saturday B made his special CC pancakes for us.  The kids played until naptime and then W & L went to sleep.  I even took a short morning catnap.  C/J/L had plans to go to Wilson to meet up with some friends so that's where they went after L got up from her nap.  Our family went to the library and then to Walmart for our weekly trip.  Back to the house for lunch and then down for naps.  After naps, we took the kids to the play area in the mall and we had a fun.  Most of the toys are Melissa and Doug toys which we love.  They are educational, fun, and sturdy.  My mom and Chuck usually get the kids M&D toys for birthdays/Christmas.  After the mall playtime, we headed home to find C/J/L back from Wilson so we ate dinner together.

Sunday, C/J/L came to CRF with us at WFR campus.  And after church, lunch was at Moe's.  B was excited because he never gets Mexican food.  Home for naps and then our last evening together consisted of dinner and then marshmallows at the fire.  J and I stayed inside with W & L because it was cold.  After the fire, all the kids took one last bath together and then got ready for bed.  C/J/L were scheduled to leave Monday afternoon.  Our time had gone by so quickly....I guess since it was so much fun.  We really had a great time with C/J/L while they were out here and we can't wait to visit them in Lebanon one day.
