Wes turns 2!

W's godparents, J/K, threw W a birthday party early just in case the new baby came along early.  It was scheduled for April 28th at a park, but rained, so our rain plan was at our house.  We just had church friends come for dinner and cupcakes.  The guests included: Gilliams, Daniels, O'Janpas, Caldwells, Oakes, and Beth.  We had a good time and W really enjoyed the cupcakes.  I don't think he realized the party was for him until we started singing HBTY to him and that's when he got it.  His face was so cute when he finally realized that we were all singing to him and he was the special one.  Jen did great with the theme.  She had mickey mouse heads in the cupcakes and play-dough for party favors.  I couldn't have asked for a better party for W!

W's actual birthday was on a Monday and it was a normal day.  B and I went to work like normal, but before work, I posted a new born picture of W and a 2 year old picture of W from the weekend.  I had several comments from people that thought I had had Noelle.  W was such a big baby weighing in at 9 lbs 5 oz.  My doctors are worried I will have another big baby this time around as well.  Since it was a Monday, we decided to stick with our Monday Breakfast meal and made chocolate chip pancakes.  We sang to W once more during dinner and practice him saying "2" when asked how old he was.  He finally caught on so much that sometimes when asked what his name is, he'll respond with "2" instead of "Wes".

Thursday May 8, W had his 2 year check up at Wakefield Pediatrics.  B and I took him and he was great.  He weighed 30 lbs (75th percentile), was 33 inches tall (25th percentile) and has a head circumference of 19 inches (50th percentile) I think.  Dr. Savilla was very happy with W's progress in his speech and his growth.  He didn't have to get any shots because we were a little too early for his vaccines.  We have to go back in 2 weeks for 1 shot.

Here is W 2 days before his birthday.
