Merry Christmas Eve

I'd say we had a wonderful Christmas Eve.  Since being a Saturday, Bryce did wake up early and work on some AJE papers before the rest of us got out of bed.  His load was pretty light so he just stayed at home and worked at the kitchen table.  Around 8:00 am we all ate breakfast and then the kids played for a bit.  Uncle Bubba called to skype since he and Aunt Adrienne were in Hburg with the parents.  We skyped for a bit and the kids loved seeing Uncle B and Aunt A. After skyping with Hburg family, we called Tata and Nana.  We are so thankful for Skype.  It's the best way for our kids to communicate with family so far away.  So thanks to the men from Sweden and Denmark that invented Skype.

After skyping, I took the big kids out of the house for a while so W could nap and B could finish working.  We went to Walmart to to pick up a few things and to just walk around.  It was crowded but not terrible.  We got out of the house for about an hour and a half, just enough time for Bryce to finish his work.  Shortly after getting home, we packed up all our stuff and our kids to head to some really great friends' house.  B&J are Rin's godparents and we've spent the last 4 Christmas Eve's with them.  It's become our family's tradition.  B&J's parents come too.  It's a houseful, but we love it and wouldn't rather be any where else.  The afternoon consisted of eating, kids napping, and football watching.

Our church service was at 6:00 pm, but B&J left for their church service at 5:00.  We also left to take Cooper out.  Have a mentioned Cooper?  Why he's the best dog in the whole world...if you ask us.  He fits our personality great!  He's very low key, not hyper, and quite lazy.  He's great, no fantastic, with our children.  Although at times, he frustrates us when he barks and wakes the kids up, but overall, we couldn't ask for a better dog.  So we let Cooper out before heading to CRF-WFR campus.  W went to nursery but R & A came to big church.  They were very well behaved and enjoyed the music a lot!  After church, we headed back to B & J's house for more food and fellowship.  Around 8:30, B lead us in a devotional which included reading scripture and prayer.  Awesome time of reflection before Christmas day.  It was very late by the time we left, but our kids were troopers.  Thanks to B's dad for holding W during the devotional and keeping him quiet.  I think it was the Santa hat that distracted him.  One of God's greatest blessings is friendship.  "...You have a very special place in my heart.  We have shared together the blessing of God..." Phil 1:7
