Blast from the Past

Today is Lexi's birthday and to celebrate we had plans to meet the Gillam family at Chuck E. Cheese.  We met them around 6:00 pm and the fun was about to begin.  Keith planned to buy a birthday package that included pizza, drinks, and tokens.  Chris Bryant was with us because he fixed our AC unit (thank goodness!) so it was Chris, the Hantla Clan, and the Gillam family.  This was Lexi's third birthday!  Of course the older kids enjoyed the arcade games.  Most of the kiddie games only took 1 token and the kids liked to ride together so our money went a long way.  The kids weren't the only ones to get some game time.  B and K found a racing game to play together and C & I played guitar hero a few times.  The overall favorite of the night was this tea cup that looked like it had marshmallows on top.  So maybe it was supposed to be hot-chocolate???  Here are a few pictures from Chuck E. Cheese.

it doesn't get any cuter than this!

We stayed at Chuck E. Cheese til about 8:30 and then headed to Jellybeans.  My school was hosting a end of year dance from 7-midnight with skating from 7-10 and dancing from 10-12.  We've never taken the kids skating and I'm pretty sure B & I have not been skating together.  It's honestly been years since I've skated and I was really looking forward to it.
It was already past the kids bedtime, but they were very excited about skating.  R & A kept asking if we were going and when they realized we were not going home, they started cheering.  Poor W just had to sit in his stroller and he wasn't really happy about it.  Not to mention that it was over an hour past his bedtime, he'd been in his stroller the whole time at Chuck E. Cheese as well.  The little skates for R & A were so cute.  I'm proud of how they did for their first time.  R was a champ.  She was fearless and didn't need to hold hands after her first lap.  A had a more difficult time, but was a great sport.  The pictures aren't great, but at least we have some documentation of what I hope becomes a family fun night more often.
not the best picture but you can see both R & A.
