Is this your FIRST?

B and I get this question A LOT!  Last week I went out to lunch with Ann and Sharon and the waitress asked me if it was my first.  Of course when I told her that it was my fourth, she could barely believe it.

Saturday B and I were at Walmart picking up a redbox and soda for our date night and the lady checking us out asked if it was our first...yet again when we told her it was our fourth, she couldn't believe it.  Her jaw dropped.

This happens to me (and B when he's with me) a lot and it cracks me up every time.  I should take it as a compliment because I know they think this is my first because we have a young look.  It's funny though:)

Game Time!

We are not big gamers at our house, but we have recently been playing pac-man as a family activity.  I can't remember who gave the game to B one year for Christmas, but it's wonderful now.  When it's time to play games, each kid gets a chair from A/W's room and lines them up beside B in the red chair.  They take turns and when you get game over, you pass the joy stick.  They are very cute to watch and I was able to sneak a few pictures one gaming session!

Easter Pictures

Since we did not go to Church all together on Easter, I dressed my kids up in their Easter clothes the week we got back from LA.  Here are the cuties if I do say so myself :)

Surprise Baby Shower

My students have known I was pregnant since December.  When they found out, they asked if they could throw me a shower.  I never thought they'd actually follow through but they did.  It was very special and meant the world to me.

Last Friday, April 19, we had an Early Release day at school.  We had plans to go to the auditorium for our rewards, but the auditorium was taken.  Kline suggested we go on a nature walk around the school and it sounded good to me so we gathered all our students and started walking.  Once we got near the softball field, I could see people at the pavilion but I just assumed it was another team.  Little did I know that it was a baby shower for Noelle.  There were balloons, food, and some gifts.  All provided by students and one parent (Wholheuter).  I cried like a baby because I was just so touched that my students would work this hard and keep it a secret.  I was amazed that I had not found out throughout the week, but the kids did an amazing job.  Here are a few pictures of my gifts and the cake.  I didn't have my camera with me because I thought we were going on a nature walk.  I'll try to get some from my students.

Easter 2013

The whole family would get to go down to LA for Easter this year.  For the first time ever, my spring break was the week following Easter weekend.  It was exciting because we could actually stay Sunday instead of traveling back to NC.  I had to work Thursday though so we left early Friday morning for Hammond, LA.  We met Chris and Heather in Atl and we followed one another to LA.  I think we arrived at Uncle Charles' house at 8:30 pm.  There were already lots of people there and my kids were tired.  B and I were pumped though to be around family for my favorite holiday of the year!  Here are links to last year's posts about Easter.  I won't have as many pictures this year but Anna took lots that will be on facebook.

Basically Friday we got there, put the kids to bed, and we were not far behind them.  It was a long day of traveling.  Saturday morning started off right with Beignets made by Grandmalupe, Bryce, and my dad.  The morning was filled with outside play time in beautiful weather!  The temperature stayed around the mid to low 70's which was awesome.  I think B and I had our first batch of crawfish around 11:00 am.  Of course we had our annual softball game later that afternoon, followed by another round of crawfish.  Later that night, we made a Sonic trip for some ice cream.  Again, my favorite day of the year!

Our plan was to make it to church Sunday, but we could not at 7:00 am.  Rin wanted to go so I got up with her and got her ready.  The rest of us slept in a bit.  Sunday morning was spent outside playing again with a huge Easter Egg Hunt before lunch.  Uncle Charles fried a turkey, baked a turkey, and a ham for Easter Lunch.  We had some yummy food and it was so nice to eat with the family.  Anna, Paul, and their kids came over for the egg hunt and lunch before driving back to Houston.  We left shortly after lunch to head up to Hattiesburg to spend the night with my mom and Chuck.

We got to Hattiesburg a little before 4:00 right before the rain hit.  It was a very chill evening with Spaghetti for dinner and a movie with Granddad.  The kids played with Granddad's toys before getting a bath and going to bed.  We woke up Monday to make the drive back to NC so B could teach class on Tuesday.  It was a long drive (there and back) but so worth it to be with family on Easter weekend.  The kids had such a good time and have asked when we can go back to Uncle Charles's house.....I love it!

A Fun Spring Day

April 13, 2013

B had his snip snip procedure on Friday so I made plans to be alone on Saturday.  It was a beautiful spring day where the temperature didn't get over 75 degrees and the sun was out shining all day.  I first took the kids to Sam's Club for some grocery shopping and then noon was the Bedford Family day with Jen and the girls.  The flyer said everything except the food was free so that's right up my alley!  The big kids did all the inflatables and we all rode the train.  We were going to ride the ponies but the line was WAY too long so we skipped that part.  We spent a total of 2 hours there.

Naps were a little later than normal because of the Bedford Family Day.  The kids woke up around 5 pm and we ate a frozen pizza for dinner.  Our next activity was the small Carnival in the Home Depot parking lot.  We drove by it earlier in the week and the kid's had been asking.  I decided to take them Saturday and luckily, other friends wanted to come too.  The O'Janpa family and Jen/Lexi met us there for an hour of rides.  Some of the rides had height requirements so we had to work around that.  All in all they had a great time and everyone got to ride 4 things (with the exception of W).
